Outdoor Wedding Locations in Canmore

Couples looking to have an outdoor wedding will find that Canmore offers outstanding natural scenery and several venues with a variety of amenities. Two favourite venues are:

  • Quarry Lake Park offers panoramic views of the mountains in a rustic setting. Parking and toilets are available about 300 metres from the site.
  • Riverside Park is a more manicured location on the East bank of the Bow River with easy access and beautiful views of the river and a classic view of Three Sisters Mountain.

Permits and Fees
Due to the high demand for venues, a permit and fee system is in place for functions:

Day Permit:

  • $65/day plus GST residents
  • $97/day plus GST non-residents

Permits and attached terms and conditions are emailed as pdf documents.  Booking via email requires: First and last name, work phone, home phone and cell number, mailing address, preferred date and location, estimated start/end time (with set-up and take down time) estimated number of people attending.

PLEASE NOTE: The parks are not closed to the general public during rentals.
A permit ensures that no other wedding or special event is booked in the park for the duration of the rental period (usually three hours). Weddings can be booked up to a year in advance. There is no fee for cancelling more than 7 days prior. In some cases, two weddings may occur in the same park on the same day but never at the same time. Gates are not unlocked for weddings so site set-up and take-down arrangements need to be made.  In the case of cancellation due to rain or snow, the Town of Canmore will refund your rental fee upon request.
